Sample List – SDW Programs and Workshops

This list of SDW seminars and workshops is just a sample of what we can offer your organization. All our programs are designed around your needs. We will help you select the sessions that will be best fit. We can also produce coursework tailored specifically to participant profiles and time constraints.

Many of these workshops and seminars are presented in 1-day sessions. The more intensive sessions extend to two days to effectively cover the subject and materials provided. All programs include use of SDW Surveys and Assessments to provide validated information as part of the learning process.

The SDW Management Development Program

This program is designed to enhance your managers’ effectiveness to become top quality leaders through a series of integrated workshops and seminars. Based on your managers’ and organizational needs, seminars can be inserted or exchanged for others.

Focus: An extensive workshop designed to teach managers the techniques they need to be effective working with their employees, peers and upper management. Each group requires a different set of skills and the successful manager must master them all.

Focus: The unique perspectives, values and expectations of those in each of the four generations represented in today’s workforce. The emphasis is on experiential activities intended to help participants become more skilled at managing across the generations

Focus: The assertion that leaders should support followers, as opposed to directing them. With foundational principles and practical exercises that apply to chief executives and local managers alike, this course gives participants the keys to leading with integrity, authority and compassion.

Focus: The skills necessary to increase the capacity of your people. Experiential activities will help you capture the “magic” of the coach/candidate relationship – and the resulting rise in output!

Focus: To prepare facilitators in the selection and administration of assessments. The emphasis is on generating improved learning outcomes through the data collected.

The SDW Employee Development Program

This program focuses on the employees who are currently supervisors or who are on track to become supervisors and then managers. It provides the basic skills supervisors need to work successfully with both upper management and those being supervised.

Focus: Both the interpersonal (or soft skills) and the functional (or hard competencies) skills that any manager needs to master in order to be effective.

Focus: Communication skills for working with all levels of the organization. Includes discussions on building an effective team through communication.

Focus: Finding the right management style match given the tasks to be accomplished and the individuals involved. It is widely recognized that there is no single “best” style of leadership; different styles are required depending on the situation.

Focus: The customer experience. Participants will become skilled at understanding and providing exemplary customer service. Can also be designed as an introduction to the SDW Creating Organizational Excellence program

The SDW Team Development Program

Focus: To provide participants with a solid framework for managerial effectiveness, objectives and performance planning. The idea of Effectiveness Areas enables us to think about the job in terms of outputs, which are more concrete and directly measurable

Focus: Building effective communication and trust. All managers have the responsibility to manage according to the situation at hand.

Focus: Getting others to work well together in order to reap the benefits of teamwork. The process of building an effective team.

Focus: The skills central to developing your team’s cohesiveness. The emphasis is on those behaviors critical to team success.

Focus: Increasing participants’ ability to analyze, synthesize and integrate information to reach more effective solutions. A significant portion of everyone’s job involves problem solving.

The SDW Top Team Program

Focus: Build and strengthen the effectiveness of a team to markedly improve both team and team member effectiveness. The program is centered around managerial styles, interpersonal working relationships, effective problem solving and setting up the team to succeed.

Focus: Issues critical to building the foundation upon which the organization is built. It is geared toward organizations in start-up phase or more “seasoned” organization going through a significant change process.

Focus: Multi module process designed to produce a revised and relevant Mission, Vision and Purpose as well as strategy plan that addresses issues of financial outcomes, people capacity objectives, customer focused and operational objectives into an executable whole.

Focus: Our changing and volatile economy has magnified demand for managers who can successfully navigate the issues while maintaining and growing their company’s competitive edge. The Managerial Effectiveness Seminar is a combination of self-assessment, development exercises and reflection designed to bring a broader perspective and greater insights to lead to greater effectiveness, predictable growth and profitability.

SDW Specialty Workshops

Focus: To increase the skills, knowledge and abilities of the board, enhance its overall effectiveness, and develop a comprehensive board training program and manual. This program is designed to provide the Board with the knowledge, skills and abilities and tools to maximize their individual effectiveness.

Focus: This workshop is designed to introduce the concept of assessments technology and how they are used as part of the hiring and promotion process within your organization. Examples are used and discussed.

Focus: To facilitate the organization, units within the organization and its individual managers to more clearly define and plan the essential output requirements of their positions, unit objectives and the organization’s essential strategic objectives in time bounded and measurable ways.

Focus: To provide managers and executives with the tools to help their employees develop sustained superior performance and commitment to self, organization, and goals the more coaching happens, the more high performing individuals and teams become.
